I believe that user-centered experience design is the key to building a more useful, accessible, and empowering digital world.
The initial spark of my passion for UX design came while I was working as a pharmacy technician. There, I happened to be selected to participate in a usability study piloting a replacement for our ancient and cumbersome pharmacy backend software. That experience opened my eyes to the crucial role that UX designers play in producing technology solutions which allow users and organizations to spend less time wrangling with their own tools, and instead spend more time innovating, delighting customers, and building a happier, more prosperous, and equitable world. That inspiration led me to pursue a degree in UX Design with the goal of making my own contribution to the field. The rest is history!
As a designer, activism and social responsibility are deeply important to me. In an era where ill-conceived design has been allowed to wreak widespread societal damage, I maintain optimism for design's potential as a means to further the causes of social justice and equity. In accordance with this, I consider it my foremost responsibility as a designer to consider accessibility, inclusivity, and design ethics in everything I create.
